transpose

Returns the transpose of a matrix.

transpose(...) swaps matrix rows and columns and returns a new matrix value.

The same operation is also available as Matrix.transpose() in the JavaScript / TypeScript object API.

Examples

These examples use Nerdamer Notation.

Transpose a numeric 2 by 2 matrix.

transpose(matrix([1,2],[3,4]))
// → matrix([1, 3], [2, 4])

Transpose a rectangular matrix while preserving symbolic entries.

transpose(matrix([a,b,c],[x,y,z]))
// → matrix([a, x], [b, y], [c, z])
