ilaplace
Computes a symbolic inverse Laplace transform of an expression.
The inverse transform handles common rational forms, repeated poles, shifted linear and quadratic factors, and supported trigonometric and hyperbolic transform pairs.
If Nerdamer cannot resolve the inverse transform, it leaves the ilaplace call unevaluated.
Examples
These examples use Nerdamer Notation.
Invert a repeated shifted pole.
ilaplace((-1+s)^-2,s,t)
// → t*e^tInvert a repeated pole at -1.
ilaplace(1/(s^2+2*s+1),s,t)
// → t*e^(-t)Recover a damped sinusoid from an irreducible quadratic.
ilaplace(1/(s^2+s+1),s,t)
// → 2*3^(-1/2)*e^((-1/2)*t)*sin((1/2)*3^(1/2)*t)Interfaces
The same operation is available through the interfaces below.
Nerdamer Notation
Use this form inside input passed to nerdamer(...).
ilaplace(arg1, arg2, arg3)
nerdamer.ilaplace
Call the operation through the default nerdamer import.
nerdamer.ilaplace(expr: ExpressionInput, s: ExpressionInput, t: ExpressionInput): Expression
Parameters
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
expr | ExpressionInput | Transform-domain expression. |
s | ExpressionInput | Plain transform-domain variable. |
t | ExpressionInput | Plain time-domain variable. |
Returns
Expression — The symbolic inverse transform, or an unevaluated ilaplace(...)
Expression when no strategy resolves the input.
Direct JavaScript / TypeScript API
Import the operation directly from its package entry point.
import { ilaplace } from 'nerdamer/calculus';

| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
expr | ExpressionInput | Transform-domain expression. |
s | ExpressionInput | Plain transform-domain variable. |
t | ExpressionInput | Plain time-domain variable. |
Returns
Expression — The symbolic inverse transform, or an unevaluated ilaplace(...)
Expression when no strategy resolves the input.
